Refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max Vs. New iPhone 13 Pro Max

Since new models of iPhone are being released every year, it can be difficult to decide whether to go for the new models or the refurbished ones. On the one hand, you get the latest technology, and on the other hand, you’ll get somewhat expensive technology.

That’s why I’m going to discuss the refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max vs. the new iPhone 13 Pro Max for those who plan on buying one.

In this article, I’ll cover the following:

  • Refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • New iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • Refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max Vs. New iPhone 13 Pro Max

Let’s start with going over the refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max

Refurbished phones are being more accepted nowadays due to the fact that the screening process has improved a lot. That’s why rather than jumping to the latest iPhone model, you can get a refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max for less price.

The refurbished or used iPhone 12 Pro Max isn’t something different from a new one. Personally, I’ve been using one myself, and frankly, I’ve no issue with it.

It boasts a Super Retina XDR display, A14 Bionic chipset, 5G network support, LiDAR scanner, triple-lens rear camera system, and much more.

The 6.7-inch display on the iPhone 12 Pro Max is one of its standout features. It utilizes OLED technology with a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels and 458 PPI density for an immersive viewing experience like no other.

Additionally, the brightness can reach up to 1300 nits peak and 800 nits typical operating levels for clear viewing even under direct sunlight. Additionally, it supports Dolby Vision HDR content as well as true tone and wide color display for more accurate colors.

The triple-lens rear camera system on the iPhone 12 Pro Max consists of a primary 12MP camera, an ultra-wide 12MP sensor, as well as a telephoto lens with up to 5X optical zoom range and night mode support.

It allows you to capture stunning photos even in low-light settings. It also supports 4K HDR video recording at up to 60fps with stabilization for smooth footage. Additionally, the phone features a LiDAR scanner which can be used for improved AR experiences and portrait shots in low light.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is powered by a 3687 mAh battery that can keep the device running all day long on a single charge. It also supports 20W fast charging as well as 15W wireless charging, so you can keep your device fully charged even when you’re on the go.

If you want to get the refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max, then I’ll recommend you get it from Wise Market New Zealand with the price tag of NZ$ 1,368 (in excellent condition).

Some of the key features of the iPhone 12 Pro Max are:

  • A14 Bionic chipset for powerful performance
  • 5G network support
  • Triple-lens rear camera system with 12MP main lens, 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and 5X optical zoom telephoto lens
  • LiDAR scanner for improved AR experiences and portrait shots in low light
  • 3687mAh battery with 20W fast charging and 15W wireless charging support

New iPhone 13 Pro Max

Now, let’s move on to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro Max was only released last year, meaning you can still get it as a brand-new device. It has other variants as well, such as iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 Pro.

However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s latest flagship model in the iPhone lineup. It features a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display and is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic (5 nm) chipset, which is the most powerful processor that Apple has ever put into an iPhone.

Additionally, the phone comes with 5G capability and supports Wi-Fi 6 technology for faster, more reliable connections.

It features an advanced Quad-Camera system with a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a LiDAR Scanner that enables advanced depth mapping in low-light environments.

Since it only came out last year, it will keep on receiving the iOS update for the next 5 years.

The phone is constructed from reinforced glass and stainless steel and comes in four colors – Silver, Graphite, Gold, and Pacific Blue. Additionally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is water resistant up to 6 meters deep for 30 minutes, making it one of the most rugged phones available on the market today.

It also includes an impressive battery life of up to 25 hours for video playback, ensuring that you can keep using your phone without worrying about running out of battery.

In terms of sound quality, it includes Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support for an immersive listening experience, as well as Hi-Res video playback with a wide dynamic range.

The stereo speakers are also 25 percent louder than their predecessor, so you can enjoy music and videos even in noisy environments. Finally, it comes with a price tag of NZ$ 2,006 (base variant).

Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for the latest iPhone technology packed into one device. With its powerful processor, 5G capability, improved camera system, and long-lasting battery life, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has everything you need to stay connected.

Some of the key features of the iPhone 13 Pro Max are:

  • 7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display
  • A15 Bionic chip with 5G capability and Wi-Fi 6 technology
  • Quad-Camera system with a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and LiDAR Scanner
  • Improved Face ID authentication
  • iOS 16 compatibility
  • Reinforced glass and stainless steel construction
  • Water resistance up to 6 meters deep for 30 minutes
  • Battery life of up to 20 hours for video playback

Refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max Vs. New iPhone 13 Pro Max

Ok! Since you’re aware of both devices, there are a few differences you should be aware of. This will help you choose the option you’re comfortable with.

Storage

This isn’t something relevant to the refurbished model or the new one. It’s something that changed with the release of the iPhone 13.

The max storage variant available in iPhone 12 Pro Max is the 512 GB variant, while in the case of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, you can get the 1 TB variant.

If you’re someone who doesn’t like to move all of their files from one device to the other, then the 13 Pro Max is the one. Otherwise, I’ll suggest the 12 Pro Max because 512 GB is more than enough.

Battery

The battery is something where you don’t want to cut corners, but both devices have great battery capacity. However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has 4373 mAh, and the 12 Pro Max has 3687 mAh.

Meaning the 13 Pro Max can last much longer than the 12 Pro Max. If you plan on going with the refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max model, then always check the battery health. If the battery health is too low, then it’s not recommended to buy it.

Additionally, make sure that the phone hasn’t been opened before because if it has been opened, then it’ll lose the IPS protection against water and dust.

Performance

If we’re simply going in terms of performance, then iPhone 13 Pro Max is the winner because it has one of the best chipsets (i.e., A15 Bionic chipset) going for it. However, for every day-to-day user, it’s a bit of an overkill.

That’s why if you don’t plan on doing any processor-intensive task that puts a lot of load on the processor, then I’ll recommend that you get the refurbished 12 Pro max. Simple because it gives you good performance for almost half the price of the new model.

Conclusion

Overall, both of the devices are amazing, but if you’re not planning on using the devices for too heavy tasks or you don’t want to spend a lot of money on one, then I’ll recommend the refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It’ll not only save you a lot of money, but it will also provide you with the best performance. However, if you still don’t want this model of iPhone, we also have a wide variety of both used and new iPhones.
